Just 100 metres from the shore of Lake Neusiedl, Hotel am See Rust offers direct access to the public beach and the Seebad leisure area featuring a 6,000 m² lawn, an adventure pool for children, and a mini golf course.

We booked spontaneously for one night and were completely satisfied:
- The processing beforehand was very quick and uncomplicated.
- Check-in, issuance of the Burgenland Card, etc. was also all perfect.
- The room (family room) made a very modern and spacious impression on us.
- The location is perfect if you want to quickly go to the beach.
- Breakfast also positively surprised us - we did not expect much here, but that was not confirmed or exceeded.
- Thus, the price/performance ratio was excellent for us.
Great location, great offer with a free sightseeing tour.

Excellent location
Beautifully situated at a marina right on the edge of Lake Neusiedl, almost amongst the reeds. There is an excellent restaurant next door to the hotel but it's the only one, and on a very hot day the walk into the charming little town of Rust is too far for most people to attempt. I say this because if you want to drink alcohol then in Austria you can legally only consume a very small amount if you are driving, so the reality is you have to walk or ride a bike.
The hotel was quiet and very clean with modern fixtures and fittings but unless you ask they only clean your room once every three days and the daily clean we requested was perfunctory: basically only the beds made and the towels changed once in four days.
Our beds were comfortable and the air conditioning, which we definitely needed in temperatures this week of up to 35C, was quiet and efficient. The bathroom, however, was hot and humid at all times, even with an extractor fan. The shower cubicle was fairly small, a large man would find it cramped. There was plenty of shelf space but not much room to hang towels.
There was a perfectly adequate small fridge in our room for storing cold items, but no tea and coffee facilities. Generous space for storing and hanging clothes.
This is a hotel with only one floor and the upper rooms are under the eaves so, yes, I have noticed that fact annoyed one reviewer and my husband did tend to bump his head from time to time. Whilst it is often the case that an hotel with only one upper floor dispenses with the need for a lift, this always means guests have to carry luggage up and down - as we had to.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. Reception is not manned after 6 pm. The breakfast room is large and spacious, you can take your breakfast outside overlooking the water which is very pleasant. Breakfast itself is adequate, with decent coffee, but nothing special and the same every day. A nice touch is the daily bullet waiting at your table,in telling you about the weather and what you can do in the area that day.
You can hire an eletric boat so as to go out on to the lake but the boats are new and not really anything that looks like a boat - more like a floating cafe table.
Overall I think the best things about this hotel are the location and the fact that it is quiet (when we were there anyway) modern and clean.

Good location, poor room.
Maybe we were extremly unlucky but our 1 night stay was a disaster.
Here are are the reasons why I could not sleep:
1. Our room faced the Katamaran restaurant on the lake side, shere there was a loud music until 23:00.
2. The room was on the first flore where all the rooms are under the roof, with 1,50m hight at the end.
The whole floor was very hot, and the aircondition was so noisy that I had to swirch it off.
3. The bed was only 190cm long, so too short for me. (Never expereienced this before)
There were other smaller inconviniences, like TV under the ceiling, bathroom too narrow, window cannot be opened 180 degree because of the courtain, …
I made pictures about this inconveniences what I showed to the receptionist, but the only reaction was: we are sorry. (20-30 % discount would have been more effectiv)
I do not say you should forget the hotel since it has a very good location but be careful when choosing a room.

Perfect hotel
We stayed here with my family. The room was spacious, clean and brand new. We had a family room, double bed for parents and bunk bed for the kids. Parking was close to the room. The location at the seaside is great. Friendly staff.

Gute Lage direkt am See
Das Standard Zimmer war für eine Nacht auf jeden Fall in Ordnung. Praktische Einrichtung, ausreichende Ablagemöglichkeiten, auch im Badezimmer.
Parkplatz, Frühstück und Eintritt in das angrenzende Bad waren inbegriffen.
Leider waren die Oberflächen im Zimmer staubig und die halb verdorrte Topfpflanze war auch keine eine Bereicherung.
