Exceptional, with a lot of history.
A very extraordinary location.
To explore Wismar at our leisure, we decided to stay one night in Wismar. It should be somewhat central, not too expensive, and have parking options. Getting all of that together is quite difficult in Wismar. By chance, I then closed in on the kitchen. Price-wise, it is more than okay, with a parking garage around the corner that offers a 24-hour rate (ultimately, we paid ten euros, which is absolutely okay for Wismar overnight) and the best part… just two corners away, and you are at the marketplace. So, it doesn't get more central than this.
The accommodation is truly extraordinary. Rooms are referred to as cells here, and on the upper floor, you can still see the original cell doors. We had a cell on the ground floor, very spacious and uniquely furnished. There were even bars on the windows, but they were wooden and could be pushed aside from the inside. The bed was super comfortable.
Spontaneously, we booked breakfast as well, which was absolutely impressive.
All in all, a hotel that meets hotel standards but still allows one to sense the charm of the original building. If one wants to call it charm.
We certainly have not been there for the last time. Next time, we will take a small cell on the upper floor, as those are even more authentic. Even with a bunk bed.

very good with some drawbacks
very good hotel, spartan but nicely done.
The cool history and look of the building are impressive, but they also come at a price.
Our room was too warm and could not be changed (via Smart TV).
The bed frame is too high for somewhat shorter people and causes pain when getting out.

This is a cool place. The teenager even wants us to come back to this hotel every year.

It felt cold and calculated
Let me counter the 1 review of "excellent". It was strictly average. A code was sent to your email to use to enter. But the process was not easy and there was nobody to help when arriving at 6pm. Normal times in most hostels. Once in, security was confiningly strict. Formerly a jail, it felt like it. I was in the highest room and hit my head repeatedly on the ceiling. There was minimal coffee service and there was nobody to complain or ask to change rooms. The 4 hostel (not hostile) partners need to add some warmth and charm. It felt cold and calculated.

Super
The putty is a converted juvenile detention center. One has preserved the origins very skillfully without it appearing threatening. The hotel room was small but extremely clean. The upper part of the window still had its original lattice, the lower part was normal.
The upper communal terrace is not accessible to wheelchair users, as the door is very narrow and there are steps in front of it. But this plays a minor role as the large courtyard is very easy to reach. Unfortunately you don't have a lot of parking spaces but you can find something nearby.
The location of the kitten is located in the middle of the city center at the church tower visible from afar. Immediately adjacent is the district court, there you must have seen the passage, fantastic! Next to it is a large church. And all this at a distance of 30m maximum! The way to the city center is about 70m. But the situation is so quiet that you think you are alone there. The price is reasonable to very good. For people who want to try something different without sacrificing anything , the putty is a great option.
