Premium hospitality at the heart of Uttarkashi
True to its name, Celestial Dream is indeed a dream made real with awesome hospitality and blissful vacation at the banks of River Bhagirathi. This quaint yet luxurious resort is mix of comfort and style. The rooms were tastefully done to welcome us after a 5 hour road trip and the food was always customized to my family’s taste. We requested simple rice and dal at 5pm and we got it piping hot and freshly made.
Uttarkashi has many sites for the curious travelers. Kashi Vishwanath temple is just across the bridge at a walking distance and we adventured by crossing the river on foot while the seniors took the road using a local taxi. We also went for boating and treks to small villages.
For a relaxing day, we sat at the banks of River Bhagirathi and saw the river flow in all its glory and at the evening joined the Ganga aarti conducted by the local priests.
A good part of the time was at the hotel itself, which has so many varieties of trees and shrubs that is worth knowing their uses from the local gardener and the owner himself. For the youngsters there was provisions for a pool party to a bonfire by the night and the hospitality by the owner couple was so warm, personal and truly exceptional.
Its worth every penny and we enjoyed our week-long stay and we will be back again. Thank you, Celestial Dream

Quite good, wonderful staff, bad ownership
Positives: Spacious room, comfortable bed, excellent staff, nice river view
Negatives: unreasonably high rates, not much to do in the area, difficult access, poor breakfast, expensive restaurant and and laundry, limited water supply (the rest is chargeable), overworked staff (feel pity for them) who do their best under hard conditions of understaffing and sleeplessness.
Bottom line: Too much income for the owners, too expensive in all respects, unfair exploitation of the staff.
