Great campsite half way between Sossusvlei and Mariental!
This secluded campsite is located just outside Maltahöhe, accessed through a gravel road. It is perfect for your rooftop camper. We travelled with a motorhome 2x4 and could not get over a "bump" that leads to the campsites. We did however park next to the kitchenette/toilet area which was small but convenient. The grounds felt very lonely, but very cozy. No power outlet which can be a hassle, and a hose to the water tap was missing. Even though we booked online, the owner came and collected the fee, which wasnt alot. We stayed in June and the morning temperature dropped to -3.5 degrees which was freezing- so bring extra blankets and sweaters! All in all- a nice "remote" campsite with nice foliage, cool surroundings and everything you need for a campsite half way between Mariental-Sossusvlei. If you drive to Sossusvlei next morning, make sure to leave early since the C19 road is a very rocky gravel road. It is well signed- and we managed to get all the way to Sossusvlei with a big motorhome which wasn't 4x4. Pros- location. Con- no power.
