Cossacks Hostel enjoys a convenient location within 30 metres from the central Market Square of Lviv and provides ethnic Ukrainian-style guest rooms with free Wi-Fi access, a tour desk and air conditioning.

Fantastic value accommodation, right in heart of the city and close to all the action
I was visiting Ukraine (as I do every year since 2004) with my wife and kids to Ternopil, and for our latest visit, rather than go via Kyiv, Wizzair had started direct flights from the UK to Lviv, which was very handy for us.
Coming back I decided to make use of the chance to use the new routes to get a early morning flight from Lviv to Wroclaw in Poland, but for a 9am flight it was far to early to set off from Ternopil at a good time, so I decided to book a hotel for the night in Lviv.
While I was there the Lviv Jazz Festival was happening, so accommodation was proving hard, but I managed to get a room booked in Cossacks Hostel.
Excellent little hostel (which actually has a more low-key hotel feel about it) located just a stones throw from the Opera Hose and from the Town Hall Square (with its many bars and restaurants) it certainly met all my needs.
A little tricky to find, as its not well sign posted (there is another Hostel about 3 or 4 doors up which is better signed posted and I actually made the mistake of going there first) with just a little notice board on the door side saying this is the building.
Staff are excellent and do a great job of making you feel welcome and keep the place really tidy.
My room was basic, but clean and met my requirements.
Will most certanly stay here again when passing through Lviv again.

No privacy, rude and disrespectful behavior from receptionists
The receptionist walks in the room anytime she feels like, brings random people in. Very rude and unprofessional behavior. No privacy here.

Pretty good
Really well located hostel in Lviv, less than a minute from the central square. I was located in the dorm room which was quite spacious but I did find that the room would get uncomfortably hot for most of the day. The staff, beds and the toilet facilities were all excellent. The hostel doesn't have any printing facilities but a printing shop called fotonova is located just round the corner and charges 1 hyrvnia per page. This is particularly handy if you need to print off an airline ticket! All in all Cossacks is a pretty decent hostel.

Centrally located, value for money
Located closed to the main city attractions, 2nd floor of the bldg with friendly & helpful staff, comfortable bed, clean beddings & free tea/coffee. The only downside: only 1 toilet, 2 bathrooms. Special thanks to Vasil.

Friendly, Helpful Staff and a Pleasant 3-night Stay
Friendly, helpful staff, and a special thanks to Wasyl for getting me squared away with my bus ticket to Poland. Wifi was generally fast and reliable. Hostel location, a notch below excellent. Complimentary coffee and tea was nice.
Suggested improvements:
Faster client response time: 2 emails by me 4 days prior to my arrival requesting taxi/tram info were not responded to until I was already enroute and off-grid. Ultimately I phoned the hostel the night before my arrival to retrieve the taxi/tram info.
The mattress on my single room bed needs to be replaced, a low 2 on a 1-10 scale. That sucker is on life support, guys.
Add towels (or paper towels) to both bathrooms for guests to dry their hands after washing them.
Cossacks should have the ability to print a doc, airline ticket, or whatever, even if it has to charge for it. Right now, no printer available.
